junie: so how was thirst n howl?
sloane: pretty good. met a cutie.
junie: did you…
sloane: we did not. but we have an actual date this week. he was a total gentleman. i like this one…
junie: ah that’s good.
sloane: what did you and ben get up to? did he read more of his terrible screenplay to you?
junie: (rolls eyes) no. we just stayed here and watched movies. i actually would have loved to come but ben isn’t a dance night guy
sloane: (giggles) we know. we’ve seen him “dance”
junie: we?
sloane: carson and i. he finally decided to come out with me.
junie raises her eyebrows
sloane: (smiles) that got your attention. ok so let’s talk about it: when exactly were you going to tell me that carson was officially back in town?
junie: (still staring at screen) i wasn’t.
sloane: (pouts) i thought we were friends!
junie: we are. i’m his friend too. i figured he’d tell you when he was ready.
sloane: ok and you know he’s not drinking or doing drugs now? like completely clean. which, wow? and the hair…
junie: about time. he shows up to fittings and go-sees now instead of just sending me. plus he’s taking on a lot more private shopping / styling jobs now. he’s really trying to stay busy.
sloane: that’s good.
junie: it is but he’s going to get burned out soon. the agency wants to start sending us on more location jobs which is great…but the car issue.
sloane: wait, he still hasn’t replaced his car? i figured he would have bought a new one by now. it’s been months…
junie: i think it’s something bigger preventing him from just getting a new car. like he hasn’t even gotten a rental…after the wreck, his uncle came by and chewed him out. his aunt was there too. his family is fucking terrifying. since then, he’s been ubering and taking transit….
sloane: (gasps) did they cut him off?
junie: (nods) maybe. he went awol a few weeks ago and then came back looking like this. (leans forward) i don’t want to gossip, but i think they finally forced him to go to re–
doorbell rings. junie pauses
junie: ah, that must be the new roommate. yari told me she’s dropping off the deposit and the lease.
sloane: new roommate?
junie gets up and heads towards the door
junie: yeah, we found a girl for the room. kinda glad she’s normal. carson gave us one referral and she was...interesting, to say the least…
sloane: (smirks) you don’t think they were…
junie: (rolls eyes) it’s carson, i already know they were…i’ll be right back.
